Dry Prawns Masala Recipe

Marinate with garlic powder and keep aside for 10 mins. Heat oil in a pan or wok \/ kadhai. Tamper mustard seeds, and curry leaves, and add flakes. Saute a while. Add onions and cook for a minute on low flame.

Add chopped tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Mash the pulp. Add mint leaves and coriander leaves. Saute a while. Add garam masala and chili powder. Mix everything well.

Now add prawns and stir. Add salt and cook it covered on low fire for five minutes. We’re not going to add water. Prawns will cook at their own moisture. After 5 mins, if there is water then change to cook and fire. 

Stir well. You may also remove prawns and cook garam masala alone to become dry. Prawns must be half-cooked.

  • 300g whole prawn, devein, wash
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 6 whole garlic cut into slices
  • 1 tsp whole cumin seed
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 5 to 6 dry whole red chilis
  • 1 onion cut into a big chunk
  • 1 green capsicum cut into a big chunk
  • 1 red capsicum cut into a big chunk
  • 3 whole green chilis cut into a big chunk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Salt to taste

  • In a wok add 1 tbsp oil, once the oil is hot, add all vegetables just 4 min high flame stir fry. Take out all the vegs in other plates.
  • Again 1 tbsp oil, once the oil is hot, add all the prawns fry on high flame for 3 min., and take out all prawn in the plate.
  • In the same wok add 1 /1/2 oil, add garlic sliced, whole dry red chilis, and whole cumin seed. mix fry for 2 min.
  • Now add red chilli powder, and mix well.  Then add tomato paste and salt and cook for 3 min.
  • Add all prawns and mix well just cook for 3 min.  Add all vegetables, mix, and cook for 3 min.
  • Ready to serve with steamed rice. chapati.
