Beef Nihari Recipe

Beef Nihari Recipe is a rich, slow-cooked meat stew tasted with spices and thickened with cornflour and atta. Nihari Recipes so many versions, somebody makes chicken nihari or mutton nihari, or beef nihari. But accurate tests come with beef nihari.

HOW TO MAKE IT Beef Nihari Recipe?

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 kg beef shanks and 1 large beef bone ( bone marrow )
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder or paprika
  • 3 small black cardamom pods
  • 2 tbsp fennel seeds (saunf) powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 tbsp cone flour or atta ( dissolve with 1 cup water )
  • oil 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • 8 glasses of water
  • 1/2 cup fried onion

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a pressure cooker add half a cup of oil add Add Boneless beef and bones and add red chili powder or paprika, black cardamom pods, fennel seeds (saunf) powder, garam masala powder, ginger powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste and add 1 cup of water mix very well altogether.
  • Serve it with naan, or roti, garnish with lemon wedges and slice green chilis.
  • Now flame on and saute all spices with meat on high flame for about 10 min.
  • Once the oil separates with masala, add beef bone ( bone marrow ) and add 8 glasses of water.

  • cooking time is 30 min.
  • After 30 min open the cooker and the meat is so tender.  discard bone because all flavor goes in the stock.
  • The last step is 4 tbsp cone flour or atta ( dissolve with 1 cup water )
  • Add slowly cone flour or atta Keep stirring so the flour doesn’t make lumps.
  • Simmer the low flame for 15 min.
  • Now add fried onion and mix well.
